I wandered lonely as a cloud, that floats on high o’er the Sierra Nevada. When all at once I saw a crowd, a host of fantastic landscape art. Beside the fuente, scenes of Granada. In no hurry on, going nowhere.

A few months ago, one Sunday afternoon, I happened to stumble across one of the city’s most recognised artists at work on the streets of Granada.

I decided to stick around for awhile and with the (inadequate) digital camera that I had on me I tried to capture what I was witnessing.

This piece, I like to call Lady Violet. I am not sure what el nino de las pinturas calls it, but I guess I will have to ask him next time I catch him in action. One thing is for sure it is definitely a great addition to some fantastic Graffiti around Granada.

On the 3rd of May Granada will be celebrating the “fiesta de las Cruces” a festival that is emblematic of the city. A date filled with tradition and charm. The fiesta of the cruces stems from the XVII century and takes its current configuration from the early years of the 20th century.

For full information on what it is all about check out the this article: Día de las Cruces, Granada 2011.
