This is really helpful!! especially with the bit of information about how much pay to expect. I know I am moving to Granada in a week and have had some offers from private language schools, but it is nice to have an idea of how much they pay.
Are you still in the area Granada Insider??

I am glad that it was of help.
It definitely is a popular blog post as no one else seems to cover the topic.
Unfortunately I am not based in Granada at the moment.

What about general aviation jobs? Island hopper type planes..152’s and 172 cessna and piper type. Are there any airports like this that would hire an english speaking mechanic?
September 4th, 2012 at 5:40 pm
The fact that you mention island hopping makes me think that you may be referring to Grenada (note difference in spelling), an island in the Caribbean. If it is Granada in the South of Spain that you are looking for, I am sure that there are lots of aviation jobs, check out any of these companies: http://www.yumping.com/vuelo-en-avioneta/granada

Hello,
I am currently looking for a teaching position in Granada and at the moment it just seems literally impossible! I have been on very website and sent a million emails. Does anyone know of any teaching jobs that are out there at the moment? I love Granada, having visited twice I am in love with this place!
I am looking to start in February.
Thank you,
Victoria

You would have better luck dropping off your CV in person and talking to the director in passing. The best time to look for a job in an academy is September when school starts and everyone is scrambling to get more teachers. Spain is a very face-to-face kind of place, so if you send your CV it may get dumped or ignored in favor of someone who has the same qualifications (or less!) but took the time to dress up and meet their prospective employer.

Hello! I’m planning on moving to Granada in January and have been looking for a teaching job there, but from what I have seen online, it seems like most schools/academies prefer hiring European teachers rather than Americans because of the visa. Could you recommend me any places who hire Americans? At least for three months? I have a TEFL certificate and teaching experience.
April 28th, 2015 at 2:51 pm
To whom it may concern,
My name is Louis DiFante and I’m currently living in Stockholm, Sweden studying my master’s degree in International and Comparative Education. I have a TEFL certificate and have taught English in Italy, Indonesia, Boston MA, and Sweden. I am Italian- American so I have dual citizenship however English is my native language.
I have just rented a flat in Granada for the month of July. I am looking for work for that month, as I would like to teach English in Spain to gain more experience. Do you have something available at your school? I am willing to sub, teach a course, work full-time or part-time. I have experience teaching a wide variety of classes.
I am available for 4 weeks and can work any hours during that time.
Please respond back accordingly with an answer at your earliest convenience. I can also provide a CV or resume upon request!
Thank you very much.
Kind Regards,
Louis DiFante
